SIGNUM REGIS Continuing Work On New Album

July 9, 2009

Slovak-Swedish melodic metal band SIGNUM REGIS, featuring vocalist Göran Edman (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, GLORY, JOHN NORUM),is putting the finishing touches on its second album. All drums, guitars, bass and most of the keyboards are recorded and pre-mixed. There are also vocals for three songs done, including a cover version of HELLOWEEN's "Sole Survivor" from the band's album "Master Of The Rings" (1994). According to SIGNUM REGIS, "The performance of Göran Edman here is really mind-blowing."

There are still some lyrics and vocals to be done for the new SIGNUM REGIS CD, which is expected to be completed this autumn.

SIGNUM REGIS recently parted ways with drummer Ludek Struhar and replaced him with Adrian Ciel (ex-VINDEX). According to the band, "The reason [for Struhar's departure is] that Ludek is currently too busy with his non-musical activities and doesn't have enough time for drumming. There is no bad blood [between them]."

SIGNUM REGIS' debut, self-titled debut album was mastered by Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN) at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark. The CD, which came out in Japan (Avalon/Marquee Records) in July 2008, was released in the U.S. on August 26, 2008 and in Europe on August 29, 2008 via Locomotive Records.

SIGNUM REGIS has not yet announced a label home for its second album.
